I'm Maria Shayna, a Creative Sonoma County Photographer and Storyteller through Writing, Music, and Digital Marketing in Northern California. 

 

Whether I'm behind the camera or helping organizations bring their brands to life, I am in love with storytelling and inspiring others to live in their truth. I feel privileged to work with my clients and tell their story.

As a photographer, I've had a camera in my hand since I was 14, developing film, chasing sunsets, and documenting stories. In college, I studied journalism and Spanish with a minor in art studio at Sonoma State and spent a year in Madrid, Spain finishing my linguistics degree, tutoring, and traveling.

In 2011, I launched Maria Shayna Photography, my freelance portrait and event photography company. Like all passions and businesses, it continues to grow and evolve as I do. However, what is consistent is the wonderful clients and experiences I am able to capture. If you're looking for local or destination photography, it would be a pleasure to help commemorate your event with beautiful photographs you can cherish for a lifetime.

My favorite photographs capture authentic landscapes and candid connections between individuals, couples and families. I offer special occasion portraits, lifestyle and marketing photos, and landscape photography for local tourism. 

 

The majority of my work is nature-based, allowing my subjects to shine while being surrounded by the beauty of the Earth.
